In the western, so called civilised world, chronic disease is the new norm; who dies of 'old age' these days? Heart disease, cancer and believe it or not, medicine are the three leading causes of death. You may be surprised that medicine itself is listed here; you will no longer be surprised after reading this book. The intention within the pages of this book is to educate you, the reader, how our current belief system about health and nutrition may be slowly and insidiously driving us to an early grave. Do the pharmaceutical and food industries have our health as their number one priority, or are they purely profit driven? Our medical system on the whole suffers from a paternalism which emanates at government level; it is almost akin to dictatorship in my opinion. We are constantly told what is best for us and fear is used as the motivator. If you don't vaccinate your child he/she will surely die, is an example. When you are empowered with knowledge you are in a position to decide for yourself if what you are being told is reasonable or 'hype'. Despite all the control in the health care industry, people, particularly children, are becoming sicker and sicker. In the US the prevalence of autism now stands officially at 1 in 68, up from around 1 in 2000 back in 1985. Asthma, eczema and autoimmune disorders are common place and have been on the rise for decades. If you think you have a health care system, you are wrong; it is a sickness management system. The future for humanity does not look good. The only way through this is personal empowerment so you can act on your own behalf and not rely on government dictates to do it for you; the data shows that this approach is not very effective. Nowadays much information is in the public domain where you can easily access it; now is the time to start doing so. The book contains many references to web sites that corroborate the information; many of these references are directly or indirectly from government sources such as the National Library of Medicine or the Cochrane data base which is considered the gold standard of independent medical research. Be inspired, change your mind, change your life.
