Irresistible grace teaches that God inwardly calls the elect in a way that cannot finally be refused. The doctrine begins with a biblical truth-grace must move first-and adds a mechanism Scripture is said to require.

Samuel D. Thomas Sr. tests that mechanism across thirty-five chapters. John 6 is read in its full setting, alongside every major New Testament use of drawing language. The book examines effectual calling, the claim that there are two different calls, Ezekiel's new heart, regeneration before faith, the gift of faith and repentance, and the order stated in Ephesians 1:13.

Then it faces the passages that describe people refusing God's counsel, resisting the Holy Ghost, rejecting Christ's gathering, turning back, and refusing when God calls.

The conclusion does not make grace weak or human effort saving. God initiates, teaches, convicts, draws, and empowers through the gospel. Yet Scripture repeatedly treats resistance as real. The hand that draws is powerful, patient, and necessary. What remains invented is the claim that this grace is given only to some and cannot be refused by anyone who receives it.
