Author ForewordWelcome to the third exciting volume of Jonathan's Tales comprising nine magical fairytales. As in the previous two volumes, the stories in Volume 3 deal with a broad range ofsubject matter with characters placed in various stages of difficulty that they must either, by themselves, or with the kindness of others successfully resolve.Jonathan's Tales has roots going way back in my own long life. That said, the immediacyof the stories of the current tales were told to my then 6-year-old son at his bedtime, recordedon my android and now skilfully transposed to the written word. The tales were toldacross three years numbering, in the final count, over one hundred. The stories in Volume3 admit the same three specific aims as that in Volume 1 and Volume 2. Firstly, entertainment; secondly, knowledge transference; and thirdly, a desire for the Tales to bemorally instructive. To stimulate a desire to learn more, all the Tales are 'peppered' withrich notations referred to extensively at the end of the book. These notations serve adual function of giving explanation of facts, but also review the meaning of the manyidioms/phrases included across the narrative in this book. As such these notations mayalso serve as a learning tool for international students seeking to better master theirEnglish Language competencies. A brief description of the nine Tales is provided on theback cover.All three volumes might be nominally seen as Middle Grade children's literarywork, and yet Volume 3 admits as did Volumes 1 and 2, an eclectic age range. Not onlychildren, but teenagers and adults have reported back on the previous two publishedvolumes their absolute delight. There is a simple reason for this attraction across the ages.Life, all our lives, can be seen generally in rich metaphors pertaining to the generality of thehuman condition, and as such reflect a universality of experience readily understandableacross a range of ages. In support of this assertion, I would desire to end this author'sforeword on a note from an adult reader. She commented on social media after readingVolume 1 thus: "You are never too old to enjoy a good story." On that wonderful note Irest my case to encourage you to dip your toe in Jonathan's expanding tales.
