She applied to the missionary board and was assigned to the Kabala Rupp Memorial school where missionary children from all over Africa boarded for the school year. Grandma B helped Foday learn to cook. He invited her to his village to share the Gospel story. Based upon the colorful letters Grandma B wrote to her daughter Clara Mae in the United States, Clara Mae decided to write Just One Hill.
