"I still have a gift the old man gave me. It's a dragon tattoo that snakes around my left arm, coiling from my wrist to my shoulder. I'm afraid that I can't recommend the procedure. It was long and very painful and the old man made me go through it stone cold sober. He painted my dragon in red, blue, and green, outlining it in black in the traditional way, pounding the colors into my skin with little sharp hammers. The years haven't dulled those colors, and I suppose they never will. He called the tattoo a 'talisman' and told me the dragon would keep me safe and bring me luck. I never know when it's going to kick in, but I can always tell when it does, because it coils and constricts around my arm like a living thing, whenever enchantment is directed at me. At least that's what it feels like to me. Afterward my left arm is always sore as hell. But I guess it must work. At least I'm not dead yet."
