Thus we meet the American scientist similar to Dr. Strangelove who dedicates a lecture to the need for a preventive war against the Soviet Union. The style is dry and flowing, as befits a university professor who is convinced that "a well-written work is easier to read, and is therefore more effective, if written in a simple and elegant way".
