About the book: In 1878 after a tough winter, Lane Jackson decides to give up cattle ranching and give prospecting a try on his brother's mining claim near Virginia City, Nevada. On his way to Virginia City, Lane gets framed for the murder of a deputy marshal in Wild Horse. Vigilantes give chase and Lane manages to outrun them, but Lane is eventually arrested and he ends up in court with a colorful, whiskey loving, lawyer defending him. As his journey continues, outlaws hold up his stage which results in a standoff at the Cactus Flats Stage Stop where he meets an attractive woman with a deep dark secret and an abusive, jealous husband. The story continues with Lane trying to keep himself and his fellow passengers alive while dealing with the woman's secret and jealous husband.
