Stephen R. Covey (Salt Lake City, Utah, 24 de octubre de 1932 – Idaho Falls, 16 de julio de 2012) fue uno de los educadores, escritores y conferenciantes más influyentes en el desarrollo del liderazgo y el crecimiento personal. Licenciado en Administración de Empresas por la Universidad de Utah, obtuvo un MBA en Harvard y un doctorado en Educación Religiosa en la Universidad Brigham Young, donde también fue profesor. Covey fue miembro activo de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días y desempeñó distintos roles de liderazgo dentro de la organización. Su obra más emblemática, Los 7 hábitos de la gente altamente efectiva (1989), revolucionó la literatura empresarial al consolidar los principios de proactividad, visión, priorización y sinergia, y ha vendido más de 25 millones de ejemplares en 52 idiomas. Además, publicó otros títulos influyentes como Primero lo primero, Liderazgo centrado en principios, El 8º hábito y El liderazgo basado en la confianza.
