Reseña del libro "Liberty's Kiss (en Inglés)"

LIBERTY'S KISS Liberty's Kiss is a new book by G L Watt, the author of slow-burning thriller 'Live to Tell'. This is a story of enduring love, friendship and danger. In the unlit alleyways and hidden back streets of old cities many crimes can be concealed. Gang warfare and prostitution lurk just below the surface, and money laundering, even art fraud sometimes flourish - out of sight and unnoticed. The City of London is an old, Roman city, built within old city walls. Many areas outside the city walls, including the city of Westminster, were called 'liberties'. Some were lawless - all were independent. The bi-ways and back alleys of the liberties have changed little since they were built, some over 600 years ago. Yet a modern 21st century city has grown up around them. The canal area in Kings Cross, where much of the action takes place has been transformed in recent years, but it still contains old wharves and the meandering waterway to Battlebridge basin. Leaving the peace of her grandfather's house to escape into this dark world, Judith Katz was ill-prepared for what lay ahead. She was too distracted by the ending of her love affair with Leon, a man who wasn't free to be with her. Another love - of the paintings of Viennese artist Gustav Klimt led Judith to believe she had discovered a forgery The discovery caused her to make rash decisions, and it took her to the edge of danger and tragedy, placing her life at risk. Judith and Leon were only saved by the flickering flame of love she carried within her, and the support of their closest friends, including Jake, a young gang member that Judith befriended. This story is set in the 21st century remnants of old London liberties, in a cold, wet winter, a London that Charles Dickens and even William Shakespeare would have recognised.
