For thousands of years, Ishian has hunted. Now, the final hunt begins

The necromancer has ravaged kingdom after kingdom, leaving only death and corruption in his wake. As the ancient commander of the last free forces, Ishian knows what must be done: descend into the underworld itself and end this threat-or perish in the attempt.

But victory demands sacrifice. Five soldiers volunteer to trade their lives for a boon that will shield the expedition from the underworld's horrors. Their commander joins them, aging centuries in moments, his future willingly consumed. The debt is paid. The price is absolute.

Yet even immortal warriors can doubt. When four of Ishian's own soldiers challenge his right to lead this suicide mission, he discovers that surviving for millennia means nothing-not if he cannot prove himself worthy of the lives depending on him.

Now, standing before the massive black gates of the underworld, with the spirits of the fallen watching, Ishian understands what he's always known: some enemies can only be confronted by descending into darkness itself.
