معارك خاسرة - للآباء لونٌ واحدٌ وللأبناء ألوانٌ كثيرة. للآباء درّاجاتهم النارية وأيّامهم البطيئة، وللأبناء بقيّة الألوان والمستقبل الذي يركض أمامهم. مِن أسوار العائلة إلى أسوار المدينة، من السجن الصغير إلى ذلك الأكبر، يعلن كلٌّ من هؤلاء انتفاضته. بشالها الأحمر، تغادر مَي قلق والدتها، وتلتحق بالمحتشدين خلف حناجرهم في الساحات. وبالرخام الأبيض، يحفر بهاء الدين حرفًا إضافيًّا على شاهدة طفولته، ليدفنها في عتمة ظِلّ أبيه. أمّا فاضل، فيحوّل الحياة إلى لعبة بلياردو ويصوّب كرته الأخيرة إلى الهاوية. The Book: The events of the novel take place during the Syrian revolution/war, portraying 3 stories of three protagonists in their youth, specifically at the beginning of the events. The stories are connected with a thin invisible thread that only becomes evident to the reader at the end. The writer refers to two types of battles. The first type portrays intergenerational battles between fathers and sons, or mothers as depicted in the first story, in a way that suggests that the rebellion against the past begins from the inner circle, that is the family, before it continues to the outer circles, where we meet the second type of battles, when the Syrians spring-up to demonstrate. The idea of linking the rebellion against the family and then against power is relatively new in approaching the Syrian events.
