Alice Monroe's first Sun Harbor summer is in full swing. Sunrise is overflowing with new members, Main Street is packed with fresh faces, and Alice - along with one-eyed Winky and loyal Clyde - is finally settling into the life she's built here.

Then the body of Ryan Chandler surfaces in the harbor. A local contractor with plenty of friends and more than a few secrets, Ryan's death is ruled an accident. Alice isn't convinced.

Neither, it seems, is Claire Flanagan - a celebrated travel photographer who has just arrived in town with a small, extremely opinionated dog and what appears to be unfinished business with the deceased. As grief and suspicion move through Alice's circle of friends, old betrayals begin to surface alongside new danger, and Alice finds herself at the center of a mystery that some people in Sun Harbor would go to considerable lengths to keep buried.

The truth is closer than she thinks. So is whoever doesn't want her finding it.
