Frank Shevchenko arrived in Lviv to put distance between a violent past and a new life working with an NGO supplying medical supplies to the front line military units. When his co-worker Olena Marchuk sends him a late-night email containing an attachment of invoices, shipping labels, and photos, neither she nor Frank realizes what will start.

Her notes point to shipments rerouted and a transport network where women were being held. As local investigators and European crime bureaus close in, Frank is pulled into a world where charity covers a more sinister trade. Where a composed, patient mastermind has long practiced vanishing before investigations turn dangerous.

Now Frank must keep working the warehouse cover, pass on information he can find, and learn to watch the people he thought he trusted before the man who built the network eliminates the loose ends. The only question left is whether one ex-cop's persistence can outlast twenty years of methodical criminal patience.
