Please talk to your child/children and ask them questions. Allow them to ask you questions as well. Make sure to not forget the very young children, such as toddlers. Encourage them to continue to hug Mom or Dad (the amputee). Children are naturally curious. Show them photos of others with limb loss-interacting with their children. Bring them to the Doctors/Prosthetists office with you. Most of all, spend quality time with them. This touching story is absolutely perfect for a child of a parent amputee. It's bright, beautiful illustrations by Aaron Cunanan are superb. Any Hero Mom or Dad would love to read this heartwarming story aloud.
