Ellyn is a house maid, working for the local baron called Valther, she earns a regular pay, has a bed to sleep on and is provided 3 meals a day, but that is all, the work is harsh and Valther is harsher.Seth however sleeps under the stars, on top of his cart, the cart he takes with him everywhere, the cart that is one of the few relics of his parents. Seth sells his bits and bobs that he collects on his travels, hoping that someone thinks they are of worth.After the nuclear fires burned themselves out, not much was left on the scorched earth; those who survived found only ruins left above ground. A new civilization arose, a civilization populated by the unlucky, the stranded, the lonely and the needy. Life is hard for all, but for some it is less so, those whom hold power and wealth can talk, threaten or bribe their way around not caring who they crush as they make their way.
