Reseña del libro "Observers and their Worlds (en Inglés)"
In this, my first work to be published in English, I challenge the metaphysical foundations that have shaped Western thought since the days of the ancient Greek philosophers. Awakened by Nietzsche and his radical proposal that questioned the ideas of Plato and Aristotle—what I call the "metaphysical ontology"—I have formulated and proposed my own radical alternative: the ontology of language.
For centuries, the assumptions and precepts of the metaphysical philosophers were the underpinnings of our sense of self and life—our collective “common sense.” As Nietzsche realized over a century ago, these precepts have slowly lost the power they once held to give purpose to our lives and our ways of relating to one another. Western civilization has reached an impasse, and it is imperative that we step back and forge a new path.
I believe that this new path begins with observation and language. This volume examines the fundamental dimensions of the observer —how we observe ourselves and the world around us, and how we invent that world through our own particular worlds as linguistic beings who invent themselves through language.
I developed the concept of metaphysical ontology to distinguish the dominant Western tradition from my proposal of a non-metaphysical ontology—one that opens new possibilities for human transformation, learning, and coexistence. This is my invitation to reimagine what it means to be human.
