Fascinated by the passing traffic, she would stand watching it for hours, becoming a silent companion to countless motorists who passed by. Tragically run over in 2008, she was mourned by thousands. Funds were raised for a bronze statue, created by Mr. Fridtjof Hanson, which now stands in Harawene's favourite spot over looking Te Ngae Road.
