Luc Ferry (nacido el 3 de enero de 1951 en Colombes, Francia) es un filósofo, escritor y político destacado por su defensa del humanismo secular. Formado en la Universidad de la Sorbona y en la Universidad de Heidelberg, obtuvo la agregación en filosofía y ciencias políticas, así como un doctorado de Estado en ciencias políticas. A lo largo de su carrera académica, impartió clases en instituciones como el Instituto de Estudios Políticos de Lyon y las universidades de Caen y París VII. Además, ocupó el cargo de Ministro de Educación Nacional, Juventud e Investigación en Francia entre 2002 y 2004.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran "El nuevo orden ecológico" (1992), que recibió el Premio Médicis de ensayo y el Premio Jean-Jacques Rousseau, y "El hombre-Dios o el sentido de la vida" (1996), galardonado con el Premio de los Derechos del Hombre. Su libro "Aprender a vivir" (2006) se convirtió en un éxito de ventas en Francia, con más de 300,000 ejemplares vendidos. Ferry ha abordado temas como la filosofía política, la ecología y el sentido de la vida en sus escritos, acercando la filosofía a un público amplio y ajeno al ámbito académico.
