Reseña del libro "Once Upon a Time (en Inglés)"

Once Upon a Time: An Anthology of Fairytale PoetryFairy tales have never belonged solely to childhood.Once Upon a Time gathers poems that return to the stories we thought we knew and lead them somewhere stranger, darker, more intimate, and sometimes more unsettling. From The Pied Piper of Hamelin, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Little Red Riding Hood to Hansel and Gretel, Bluebeard, Peter Pan, and the Three Bears, these poems revisit familiar characters and forgotten corners of their worlds. Some poems preserve the wonder of the original tales. Others question their promises, give voices to the forgotten, imagine what happens after happily ever after, or expose the violence, desire, loneliness, fear, and grief hidden beneath the enchantment.Featuring work by Robert Browning, Amy Lowell, Edna St. Vincent Millay, W. B. Yeats, William Morris, William Allingham, and many contemporary poets, along with original poems by Laughton J. Collins, Jr., Once Upon a Time is a collection for readers who have never quite stopped believing in fairy tales—or who have always suspected there was something darker waiting inside them. Read more
