From the small town in southern Minnesota where he grew up, he was sent around the world to the Pacific Island called the Philippines. It was World War 2, and Jacob Wesley Zimmerli was part of the US Army. Specifically, he was a member of the 96th Infantry, a division called The Deadeyes. This is the story of his days serving his country, from enlistment until he was home again.
