Lauren Kate (Dallas, Texas, 21 de marzo de 1981) es una escritora estadounidense de literatura juvenil, reconocida por su serie Oscuros (Fallen), que combina romance, fantasía y elementos sobrenaturales. Licenciada en escritura creativa por la Universidad Emory y con un máster por la Universidad de California en Davis, trabajó como editora antes de dedicarse por completo a la escritura. Su experiencia en el sur de Estados Unidos influyó en la ambientación de sus obras.
