The text then focuses on practical elements beginning with the planning, creating, and revising stages of the process. Topics include brainstorming, discovering and refining a topic, mapping, appropriate use of time, and preparatory techniques. the book also addresses coherence, seeking feedback, fallacies, tone, and sexist language. Complete yet concise, Producing Technical Communication is suited for courses at both the high school and university level. Peter Porosky earned his M.F.A. in fiction writing and English at the University of Oregon. He is the owner of Kremer/Porosky Communications, a professional writing consultancy. He currently teaches at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina. His previous teaching experience includes positions at the University of Arizona, University of Maryland, and Johns Hopkins University. Kevin Dungey holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University. With over 35 years experience teaching communication skills, he is now a senior lecturer at Johns Hopkins University. In addition, he works at the Government Accountability Office teaching executives how to prepare to give congressional testimony. He is the co-owner and director of Quality Communications Groups, Inc."
