Reseña del libro "Reading Cinema/阅读电影 (en Inglés)"

Reading Cinema brings together the critical essays of Zhang Baiqing, a distinguished film critic, reflecting his decades of engagement with Chinese cinema. The volume chronicles the trajectory of film criticism in China from the early years of the People's Republic to the present, situating it within the broader development of Chinese filmmaking. It examines audience aesthetic preferences and investigates fundamental questions concerning the purpose, audience, and future direction of film criticism. With its lucid prose and sound scholarly reasoning, Reading Cinema serves as an invaluable resource for cinephiles who wish to deepen their understanding and sharpen their critical appreciation of film.
