Reseña del libro "Reviews (en Inglés)"

Reviews is a collection of literary criticism, and it showcases sharp wit, aesthetic philosophy, and critical engagement with literature, theatre, poetry, and cultural commentary. The work is significant as part of Victorian literary criticism, reflecting Wilde's ability to blend intellectual analysis with stylistic elegance and irony. The collection includes reviews of poetry, cookery books, political ideas, and theatrical performances, demonstrating the breadth of Wilde's cultural interests. Through Oscar Wilde wit and aesthetic literary essays, he evaluates artistic works not only for technical merit but also for their imaginative and philosophical depth. His criticism often challenges conventional moral judgments, favouring beauty, style, and artistic individuality over rigid social norms. This aligns with Victorian literary criticism and cultural commentary Wilde, where literature and theatre become spaces for questioning taste, morality, and artistic value in society. The opening material, including editorial framing and dedication, highlights the importance of preserving Wilde's critical voice despite varied reception during his lifetime. Overall, the collection presents Wilde as both a cultural critic and stylist, shaping modern approaches to literary and artistic evaluation.
