Saving Ms. N (en Inglés)
Reseña del libro "Saving Ms. N (en Inglés)"
When the town fires the one adult holding its kids together, the kids fire back. In the played-out mill town of Marlow, Pennsylvania, half the fifth grade eats breakfast, lunch, and their only real snack in Room 12 — because both parents work double shifts, and the woman who runs that classroom, the beloved and unpronounceable Ms. Nowicki, keeps a drawer full of granola bars and one rule: *you don't have to ask, and nobody eats alone.* She is, for a lot of small lives, the closest thing to a full-time parent they've got. So when the district eliminates her in a "budget cut" three weeks into the school year — while breaking ground on a shiny new school nobody asked for — her students smell a rat. With one 5th-grader's teenage-hacker sister, they crack the superintendent's email and find the truth: he's skimming millions in construction kickbacks and covering the hole by cutting teachers like Ms. N. But being right isn't the same as being believed, and no adult with any power will listen. So the kids do the only thing left. They recruit a couple of big brothers with driver's licenses, a pair of very fake handcuffs, and a plan to lure the superintendent to an abandoned factory and make him confess — a citizen's-arrest sting that goes gloriously, catastrophically sideways. It'll take a hungry hostage, a lost delivery driver, a widowed firefighter, a dogged small-town reporter, and the whole overlooked town finally deciding to *watch* to set things right. SAVING MS. N is a warm, funny, big-hearted novel about the invisible people who actually hold a town together — the teachers, the custodians, the day-moms — and what happens when they've had enough. For readers of Fredrik Backman, Richard Russo, and anyone who ever had a teacher who saved them. Laugh, then get the lump in your throat.
