Tiny's narrative begins in celebratory bliss as she marries Theo in a riotous village ceremony complete with singing, dancing and well wishes. All those surrounding her seem to feel that she is beginning a blissful life. Yet, soon after her wedding day, Tiny's joy starts to dwindle as she settles into Theo's home in his quiet rural village.

Initially, the peaceful village silence is a surprise and quite tolerable, yet as time passes, Tiny comes to realise life in Theo's household is completely unlike what she expected.
