Cal Newport (1982) es profesor de Ciencia Computacional en la Universidad de Georgetown (Washington) y autor referente en productividad y la relación entre tecnología y cultura digital.

Doctorado en informática por el MIT, Newport se ha especializado en sistemas distribuidos y algoritmos, y hoy es profesor titular en Georgetown, donde también lidera investigaciones relacionadas con el impacto tecnológico en la sociedad.

Newport es conocido internacionalmente por sus libros superventas, especialmente Céntrate (Deep Work), traducido a más de 40 idiomas, en el que propone la concentración profunda como antídoto ante la distracción digital.
