Eduardo Galeano (1940-2015) fue un escritor y periodista uruguayo cuya obra se caracterizó por su profundo compromiso social y político. Su estilo combinó el ensayo, la crónica y la narrativa para abordar la historia y las luchas de América Latina. Su obra más influyente, Las venas abiertas de América Latina (1971), se convirtió en un referente del pensamiento crítico sobre el colonialismo y la explotación en la región.
