Believing she is on her way to great things, Terry sets off to build a new life for herself, with a little pup as her only confidant. It's an exciting challenge, until the night the Denver Police pull her over and all her hopes and dreams begin crumbling. If Terry reported the cop, they would merely claim she suffered regrets for submitting to his demands for sex. No one would understand her confusion and fright. She did not fight him off, she cannot even recall protesting much; Terry only remembers the pain and shame. Now the cop is stalking her. Her drinking and drug use give him a weapon to use against her, but she needs something to hide from the humiliation. He always finds her, he always gets his way. Then, one dark night, in a secluded alley where the cop has taken her, a gun shot ruptures the quietness. Something has gone horribly wrong, and all Terry knows is she has to run. In a last, desperate bid for salvation, she turns to the deputy who once promised to help her-if there is anything salvageable in wreckage of her life.
