Zack Stack's return from the forced hiatus in Europe is anything but relaxing. Upon his plane landing in Baltimore, Zack survives an attempted abduction from the airport, a grieving mother begs him to investigate the death of her college daughter, and an anonymous caller threatens to expose Zack's true identity. Meanwhile, his fiance Julie is caught in the middle of a failed assassination attempt of a US Senator running for President that leaves two people dead. Zack is thrust into investigating where the police under the direction of Zack's close friend, Lieutenant Ted Barnes, have found no answers. The answers, Zack learns, are connected but not meant to be discovered and a force is determined to prevent Zack from digging up any information. In order to prevent his past from being exposed and solve the case, Zack has to forge ahead despite the threats against his life and the consequences on the person he loves most and ultimately is forced into a kill or be killed situation to protect himself and the people in his life.
