Climate change has paused serious threats to agriculture in general and to crop plants in particular. If concerted efforts are not made immediately, it may lead to a serious food crisis. Several approaches have been adopted by plant breeders to overcome the adverse effects of climate change on crop plants. Important among them are: resequencing of the plant germplasm, de novo domestication of the wild species, high throughput phenotyping, genome editing, and speed breeding.
