Henry Metcalf's detailed, descriptive personal account of the county's people and places is filled with names and relationships, along with a wealth of other genealogical and biographical information."In these 'Recollections' I have referred mainly to Men and Matters in those towns of Sullivan County in which I resided and with whom and which I was personally familiar, incidentally alluding to some other towns to which my knowledge and acquaintance extended. ...
