The Precipice Series continues with the third installment, Surviving the Precipice. The series began with Edge of the Precipice and continued with Over the Precipice.

In Surviving the Precipice, we see Paul Michaels, his family, and friends struggling to navigate their new world. The attacks on the United States are having a devastating effect. No one knows exactly what happened. An international alliance of America's enemies has banded together to bring the United States to her knees in a multi-faceted attack. They targeted nearly every aspect of the nation's infrastructure. The food stopped, the lights went out, and 911 stopped working. For the first time in their lives, the population was responsible for its own care. Some Americans reacted by pulling together and helping one another. Others chose a different approach. Criminals began taking advantage of the situation, while the terrorists who initiated the attacks continued to roam free.

Paul and his group of like-minded friends try to make the best of a bad situation. They try to use their preparations, training, and teamwork to execute their emergency preparedness plan. However, they soon learn that even the most detailed plans may change in the face of an unexpected reality. They will be tested, challenged, threatened, and pushed to the limit.
