Some of these poems were written during the 16 months that she was incarcerated awaiting trial in 2013. Laura was committed to a psychiatric hospital in the fall of 2013 where she continued to write until the publishing of this book in the winter of 2014. These poems are an insight into the mind of schizophrenia and the criminal justice system.
