Reseña del libro "The American Coma: A Citizen Awakes (en Inglés)"

Today in America our leaders say and do outrageous things. Yet, politicians continue to be re-elected. Media outlets continue to manipulate the news. Many citizens continue to ignore the crisis of increasing government control and loss of freedom. The supporters of the current administration in Washington, D.C. will not tolerate any questioning or disagreement. They refuse to discuss issues in any rational way. Name calling, character assassination, and ridicule are their answers to opposition. Why is this behavior being accepted by so many? Why has rational discussion of issues all but disappeared? Why aren't citizens demanding more information from experts, opinions from all sides, and evidence to support outrageous claims? We must go back to the individual citizen and understand how they think. Since the 1960's there has been a growing trend of emotionalism. How you feel is more important than what you think. It has been encouraged by those who can profit from it. Meanwhile, the rational side of the brain has been ignored. It goes to sleep from lack of use. In the American Coma Barbara Norton explores the history of this trend, why it continues to grow, and the dangers of emotional decisions. She discusses how we can wake up the rational side of our brain to develop a balanced, whole-brain approach to life. The author went to college in the 1960's and lived the emotional life for many years. As her rational brain woke up, she began to notice the emotional trend around her. She has seen the changes in education as a teacher and witnessed the development of the mortgage crisis as a mortgage underwriter. She is a wife and mother who wants our children to have the freedom and opportunity to pursue their dreams. She is joining the conversation of concerned citizens to discover the root causes of the disturbing changes we see in America. Only by understanding the causes can we restore freedom and opportunity to all Americans.
