Why did she ask him? And why now, so many years later? Wilson wants to refuse the quest. But the coincidence of the timing of this murder with the trial, as well as his own memories of Nuremberg, persuade him to take up the challenge. What he discovers draws him further into the lives of the Nazi prisoners and those attempting to make sense of the minds of those who perpetrated the Holocaust.
