Something in Briar Hollow has learned how to divide the world.

After a violent storm fractures the land beneath the Briar Hollow Museum of the Unseen, the town's quiet creek begins behaving impossibly. Its waters split into parallel channels that appear and disappear overnight, animals are seen twice in two places at once, and reflections begin showing things that do not exist.

Rowan and Maeve soon realize the creek is no longer just water-it has become a conductor between realities. Beneath the museum, an ancient dimensional wound is widening, and the mysterious entity known only as the Harvester has begun using the town itself as a gateway.

When a possessed deputy becomes the living conduit for a terrifying geometry of antler-like fractures, the couple is forced to make a devastating choice that saves the town-but at a terrible cost.

Now only a single creek remains.

And it flows the wrong direction.

As the river hums with a low, haunting vibration each night, the fractures begin spreading beyond Briar Hollow. Houses flicker between realities. Reflections move before their owners do. And something beneath the water is learning how to copy the living.

Rowan and Maeve must decipher the language of the river before the splitting world consumes the town-and everyone they love.
