World War II is in its final days. A desperate Germany fights a losing battle against the thousands upon thousands of American bombers seeking to destroy its population, industry, and infrastructure. But he is unable to do so for reasons beyond his control. When the German jets begin to appear on the scene, and the 8th Air Force General Staff changes tactics in order to deal with them, he becomes desperate and unnecessarily reckless trying to shoot one down and add it to his list of victories. And from the far-flung reaches of the Japanese home islands, a long-forgotten hero emerges from a hellish P.O.W. camp and escapes, desperate to redeem himself and regain his honor, as well as the woman he once loved. The eponymous Jack Knight returns to the army and a world at war hoping to make an impact and do something worthwhile, but not in ways he had ever thought of doing before. Jack joins the O.S.S. and becomes a special agent, and is eventually given a special mission, one that will put him back on the path to greatness, and into the path of the German SS, a secret Luftwaffe factory, and the fastest and most heavily gunned jet fighter ever developed, one faster and more dangerous than the Me-262. Give the devil his due, and he'll stop at nothing to regain his lost honor!
