Joe Abercrombie (Lancaster, Reino Unido, 1974) es un aclamado autor inglés de fantasía oscura. Se dio a conocer con su impactante Trilogía de la Primera Ley (La voz de las espadas, Antes de que los cuelguen, El último argumento de los reyes), una obra que revolucionó el género con su realismo crudo y personajes ambiguos. Tras estudiar Psicología en la Universidad de Mánchester y trabajar en el sector audiovisual, Abercrombie se dedicó por completo a la literatura, expandiendo su universo ficticio con novelas independientes como Los héroes.
