Clare Chambers, nacida en 1966 en Croydon, Inglaterra, es una novelista británica reconocida por sus obras de ficción contemporánea y romántica. Estudió Literatura Inglesa en Hertford College, Oxford, y escribió su primera novela, Uncertain Terms (1992), durante una estancia en Nueva Zelanda. Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran Learning to Swim (1998), que ganó el premio a la Mejor Novela de la Romantic Novelists' Association, In a Good Light (2004), y The Editor's Wife (2007). También ha incursionado en la literatura juvenil con títulos como Bright Girls (2009) y Burning Secrets (2011).

Su novela más reconocida, Pequeños placeres (Small Pleasures, 2020), ambientada en la Inglaterra de los años 50, fue preseleccionada para el Women's Prize for Fiction en 2021 y ganó el premio Pageturner Book of the Year en los British Book Awards de 2022 . En 2024, publicó Shy Creatures, una novela ambientada en un hospital psiquiátrico de los años 60, que recibió elogios por su prosa y profundidad emocional.
