The Future of Black Creative Art Therapists explores the lived experiences, expertise, challenges, and successes of pedagogy and innovative practices of Black creative art therapists, who are leaders or burgeoning practitioners in the field.

Comprised of three parts, the book navigates through Black creative art therapists’ lived experiences, the unfolding of novel intervention methods designed by veteran and novice Black creative art therapists for Black and/or BIPOC clients, and finally the prospects and needs for future Black creative art therapists. The voices showcased in this book provide important and infrequently shared narratives on resilience, liberatory stances, and innovative clinical interventions. Discussed are insight on what is needed to expand these professions for more diversity and the importance of including Black Psychology perspectives into curricula while addressing the cultural and oppressive limitations of training through the narrow lens of a dominant society.
