Siddhartha Mukherjee (Nueva Delhi, India, 21 de julio de 1970) es un médico, investigador y escritor indio-estadounidense, considerado uno de los mayores divulgadores científicos y voces innovadoras de la medicina contemporánea. Se formó en Biología en Stanford, fue becario Rhodes en la Universidad de Oxford, donde obtuvo un D.Phil. en inmunología, y se graduó en Medicina en Harvard. Actualmente es profesor asociado de Medicina en la Universidad de Columbia y oncólogo en Nueva York, guiando una investigación pionera sobre cáncer y terapias celulares. Además de su labor clínica y científica, escribe para medios como The New Yorker y The New York Times.

Su obra El emperador de todos los males (2010), una biografía del cáncer, ganó el Premio Pulitzer en 2011 y fue adaptada en documental por Ken Burns. También es autor de El gen: una historia personal (2016), que fue un éxito internacional y finalista de prestigiosos galardones, Las leyes de la medicina (2015) y El canto de las células (2022), todos ellos reconocidos como referentes en la divulgación de la ciencia moderna. Mukherjee ha recibido numerosos reconocimientos, incluyendo el Padma Shri (2014, otorgado por el gobierno de India), el Lewis Thomas Prize for Writing About Science (2019) y el Dr. Ida S.
