Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875–1950) fue un escritor estadounidense, ampliamente reconocido por sus influyentes obras de aventura y ciencia ficción, que dejaron una huella duradera en la cultura popular. Es especialmente famoso por haber creado al icónico personaje de Tarzán, quien apareció por primera vez en la novela Tarzan of the Apes (1912).
