Black women have to face many problems regarding beauty standards, image and self-esteem. In order to find a psychosociological balance, we must learn to identify ourselves as black women with our own characteristics and thus see ourselves as we are. As the title suggests, this book is intended for women who want to affirm their own codes of beauty through their natural hair. We must heal and free ourselves from westernized diktats of beauty by deciding to ignore the prejudices and comments of those around us.
