The Path After The Storm follows three stories follow the lives of three main characters. The first is the incomparable Reverend Jerry Baylor; who is a pastor of a neighborhood church with a deep dark past of being a pimp and drug addict. While in prison, he finds a wife named Patrice who is a member of a church choir that visits the prison, and also finds God Second is the young 19 year old Devin Edwards who is a drug dealer who lived a hard life. As a well-known dope boy from the projects born to a prostitute named Cee Cee, who died from AIDS when he was 5 years old Devin found himself orphaned and at the age of seven forced to reside and work for his mom's female pimp, Sandy. This is how he became a child of the game. Last is the sassy and classy Kayla Parker whose character is a young black business woman who struggles to really find herself no matter how much money she makes. Kayla Parker is a single, well-educated young woman who is a taskmaster in the boardroom, an alcoholic, and a man-eater who thinks money will solve all her problems. Not only does she have problems with men but she also has problems with her parents whom she takes for granted.
