This book is about a family from South Carolina in the 1800's. The pearls were a gift to Grace by her parents. This was all they were leaving her since they did not approve of her marriage to a furniture maker. There were three children born to this marriage, two girls and one boy. The boy was the oldest. The father's store was put out of business by a large northern furniture business and the family was forced to sell out and get what they could and relocate. The father had always wanted to go West. He procured land, sight unseen, through a broker. The family packed up and began the process of moving West. This story progresses through many twists and turns. You will laugh, cry and be awed by the events that follow. It is fiction of course, and contains some love, adventure, and Sifi. There is absolutely no profanity or sex scenes in this book.
