Both of them are attempting to escape not only the authorities but also a past they would rather forget. Separated after a snowmobiling accident that almost proves fatal for Lucas, Jarrod finds himself in a gloomy jail, facing a litany of charges initiated by a vengeful sheriff. After his inexplicable recovery while in the care of an Ontario Indigenous community, Lucas feels compelled to continue his journey. Aided by a series of colourful characters, many of whom are homeless misfits like himself, he and Jarrod are eventually reunited. They continue their eventful journey, with little hope that it will lead to a satisfying ending. Along the way, Lucas and Jarrod help a number of complete strangers who find themselves in trouble. Despite their good intentions, will the two fugitives ever find the contentment and happiness they're looking for?
