Steven Pinker (Montreal, Canadá, 18 de septiembre de 1954) es uno de los psicólogos, lingüistas y divulgadores científicos más influyentes a nivel internacional. Doctorado por Harvard y actualmente profesor en esa universidad, su trabajo ha revolucionado la comprensión del lenguaje, la mente y la naturaleza humana, defendiendo teorías sobre los instintos lingüísticos, la evolución del pensamiento y el poder de la razón. Entre sus libros más célebres destacan El instinto del lenguaje (1994), Cómo funciona la mente (1997, finalista del Pulitzer), La tabla rasa (2002), Los ángeles que llevamos dentro (2011), En defensa de la Ilustración (2018) y Racionalidad (2021), obras esenciales que abordan desde la reducción de la violencia hasta el rol del humanismo y la ciencia en el progreso social.

Reconocido por su rigor y claridad expositiva, Pinker ha sido incluido entre los pensadores más influyentes del mundo por Time, Foreign Policy y Prospect.
