Ernest Hemingway (Oak Park, Illinois, 21 de julio de 1899 – Ketchum, Idaho, 2 de julio de 1961) fue un novelista y periodista estadounidense, Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1954. Combatió en la Primera Guerra Mundial y fue corresponsal en varios conflictos. Sus obras más célebres incluyen El viejo y el mar (Premio Pulitzer), Adiós a las armas y Por quién doblan las campanas, reconocidas por su estilo directo y su influencia en la literatura universal.
