The Sixth Shadow (en Inglés) - Richard Enns

A murder that was never solved. Six young women who disappeared into the shadows. And a retired detective who refuses to let the past stay buried.

Years after a brutal crime shattered the lives of several young women, retired homicide detective Michael Tough is drawn back into a case that has haunted him for years. The investigation once seemed to have reached a dead end, but new information from the survivors reveals a horrifying truth: the crimes were not the work of a single perpetrator, but of a network of men who operated in the shadows.

Working alongside former colleagues Gina and Tom, Michael begins reopening the cold case. The search takes them through old evidence, frightened witnesses, forgotten records, and dangerous figures who have spent years hiding from justice. A name from the past El Diablo emerges as one of the keys to the mystery, while new suspects and unexpected connections begin to expose how far the criminal network may have reached.

But Michael’s investigation is only one part of his struggle. At home, his marriage to Becky carries its own history of pain, addiction, forgiveness, and resilience. As the investigation intensifies, Michael must balance his commitment to the victims with the people he loves and the complicated realities of the life he has built after leaving the police force.

The Sixth Shadow is a gripping crime thriller about an unsolved murder, the enduring scars of trauma, and the determination to pursue justice no matter how much time has passed.
